Calamity 05:41
Hope cannot linger within a heart of darkness Anymore than peace can flourish in a realm of chaos A beast overwhelming I am born of a woe My Unending hatred Unstoppable And so my true death Shall never come From the hands of mortals Goddesses, or Their chosen ones, This land will burn Hope and light perish Calamity I bring your doom heroes courageous This is Calamity This land will burn I am Blasphemy I bring Calamity I bring your doom I AM CALAMITY I am calamity I have possessed many men and forms Usurper, warlock, liar, I am Violence incarnate The strength of men fails And each generation falls To beasts terrible Or power corrupting

Of The Abyss 05:42
The coast of nowhere, the edge of the night The deepening void, awake in the light of the day To see through those eyes, to linger in the hearts Of the ancient ones who dwell beneath the ocean A pact has been made, a stage has been set A sacrifice to see their end of the bargain met Willful distortion of the human mind The mass extinction of humankind Flee in horror Seeing all that they are Denizens of the deep In the guise of the innocent Broken lord See it on the horizon Bursting forth From their boiling skin Rending flesh Make way for the old blood Spreading death For the dead cannot die The priestess beckons the most ancient of names The choir hearkens {I'a Cthulhu} Within his city walls, the sleeper remains And yet the sky darkens Beyond the Devil's Reef, within the blackened deep Prodigious progeny is stirring from a restless sleep The congregation cowed, they sing to Dagon now As he begins to emerge Gaze in wonder Blazing under the waves Shining with darkness The bane of the light Elder Gods Rise Eternal nightmare Stars tell no lies The eldest of the Old Strange aeons rise Forever in your dreams Even Death dies He shall awaken

Verse(es): Liars and deceivers Burning sin from the world Prey on your fears Minds clouded with zeal... An army of fiends From the recesses of hell Celebrate my loss Humanity dies for my... Endless, lifetime, of hate Now before me Last son of a warrior dynasty, Awoken demon’s child, Prodigious daughter of a wizard’s clan All that remains is this…

about

We Bring Calamity is the 2nd EP from the power-death metal group Balrogath. Featuring 3 crushing tracks that are sure to tickle your ears in all the right places.

Starting off strong with a new mashup of influences ranging from metalcore to black metal, Calamity crashes the gates with force. Big leads, a playful solo, and huge vocal choruses make for an exciting start to this powerful 3 song release. This song was released along with a music video so you can see the group play it along with their favorite tabletop roleplaying game.

Second we have Of the Abyss, a groovy, heavy hitting tune about the old gods of the deep. Full of fun rhythmic play and a beautiful bass lead section, this song offers something new and unique for the bands sound without straying too far from their form. Murky and dark, this song truly awakens feelings of gloom and doom, ominous of the reckoning to come.

Finally, Endless Lifetime of Hate wraps things up. A blistering neo-classical lead with relentless rhythm and a hint of bloodlust. This track has a quick pace and charging riffs that evoke a feeling of power and strife, as though the forces of light and dark are battling for control. Being themed around the Castlevania anime and games, this song pays homage to the epic abilities of the characters involved. In true form to the band, always favoring the monster's perspective through it all.

All in all, these 3 songs showcase an elasticity in the band's ability to bend and change genres and influences with ease while staying true to their original power-death metal roots. Be sure to check out the whole EP on Aug 3, 2023!
